You can always find a smile on Nicolette Aguilar’s face. The bubbly senior was recently featured in the Orange County Catholic newspaper, where she was interviewed for her role on Connelly’s volleyball team. Voted co-captain by her teammates, Nikki, is a natural leader and encourager. Playing the position of libero for the team, Nikki, plays an integral role. The position requires her to stay extremely focused and always be ready to receive the ball, since the libero typically touches the ball more than the other players on the team. Varsity volleyball head coach, Whitney Spradling, praises her for doing a fantastic job.
Her involvement on campus in the community doesn’t end on the court. Nikki is a member of Connelly’s Campus Ministry. She serves as a Eucharistic Minister, helping serve at Mass as well as leading morning prayer. Off campus, Nikki is a member of the Assistance League of Downey, and has been a Girl Scout for the past 13 years. She is currently working towards her achieving her Girl Scout Gold Award, the highest achievement in Girl Scouting.
Nikki aspires to studying health sciences at Saint Mary’s College of California in order to become a physician assistant. Drawing upon life lessons she’s learned from volleyball, Nikki, believes in never giving up. That anything is possible. “Just do the best that you can and put all your effort into everything that you do.”
