Gigi Ibrahim ’05 is featured in OCMetro’s March 2013 edition and tops the list in the article titled “20 Women to Watch.” Click here to read the full story on the OCMetro site. The article mentions that Gigi is an alumna of Connelly. Gigi continues to report from Cairo as a journalist and political activist during the ongoing turmoil in Egypt. She recently wrote to us about her fond memories of Connelly: “I always remember the special time and gifted knowledge Connelly provided me in my education and I never forget the sense of community and belonging I felt there. I carry that now as I take part in the Egyptian revolution as a proud Egyptian, who hopes someday to achieve freedom – what we called out for when millions of Egyptian people went on the streets giving their blood for it. I hope all of us may cherish the love that we get from our communities, because at the end of the day as long as you belong to something great, you will never be alone.”
