Students are recognized for academic honors each semester. At the close of the second semester, an awards ceremony is held in recognition of student achievements in all academic subjects, leadership, athletics, and the arts.
The Honors Award Ceremony incorporates the musical arts through performance and includes a student and faculty speech on a personal topic i.e. growth, achievement, etc. This is unique to Connelly in that recognition is not just reserved for those who excel academically, but also who have achieved growth in other important ways.
Prizes are also awarded for the County and State Science Fairs, creative writing competitions and community service. New National Honor Society members are inducted at this time. Special honors such as the Yale Book Award and the Bausch and Lomb Science Medal are also given. Awards Day culminates in the distribution of yearbooks.
