Connelly’s Talented Artists

May 7, 2019 by Cynthia Werelius

Imagination Celebration

Each year the Orange County Department of Education sponsors a highly competitive art contest in which thousands of pieces of youth art work are juried and selected for the distinct honor of being shown in two art shows throughout Orange County.  This year, 10 of our student artists had 13 pieces of their artwork chosen to be shown in the 1000 Pieces of Art Exhibit at the Crate and Barrel Wing of South Coast Plaza May 1-19th during mall hours. Our Imagination Celebration-1000 Pieces Show winners this year are:

Class of 2019: Christelle Kua-Balbuena, Tara Zhan (2)

Class of ’20:  Therese Enriquez, Raeanne Marcial, Theresa Perry, Lola Searcy

Class of ’21: Arielle Hobbs (2), Anais Jimenez, Gabriela Mercado, Ava Shanklin (2)

In addition the student artists whose artwork scored in the top 1% of the jurying are asked to have their artwork shown this summer in the student section of the Festival of Arts in Laguna Beach.  Two of our artists have that honor this year and they are Arielle Hobbs and Ava Shanklin.

Congratulations to all of our amazing artists!
